1.The agreement
These terms are between you and LowDro LLC (a North Carolina limited liability company), which operates Scavengia ("we"). By creating an account or playing you agree to them and to the Privacy Policy. You must be at least 13. If you're under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree for you.
2.Play safely
- Scavengia is played in the real world. Watch where you're going, obey the law and posted signs, respect private property, and never enter places you aren't allowed to be. You're responsible for your own safety.
- Never use the app while driving. Opening caches and typing are disabled at driving speeds; "passenger mode" is only for real passengers.
- Ride-alongs are 18+. Hosts share a delayed route; don't share anything that could reveal where you live, and report anyone who makes you uncomfortable. We may end rides and suspend accounts for unsafe behaviour.
3.Your account
Keep your sign-in secure; you're responsible for activity on your account. One person per account. Usernames and handles must not impersonate others or be offensive; we may reclaim ones that break these rules.
4.Virtual items and currencies
- Coins can be earned in play or bought. Emeralds can only be earned and are never sold. AI credit is prepaid fuel for AI features.
- Coins, emeralds, AI credit, cards, player IDs, handles and style items are a limited, revocable licence to use within Scavengia. They have no cash value, can't be redeemed for money, and can't be sold or traded outside the game. Trading between players happens only through in-game features.
- All sales are final. No refunds. We grant coins, AI credit and plans only after your payment has cleared, and we don't offer refunds, credits or exchanges for any purchase, including unused coins or credit. Purchases made through Google Play or the Apple App Store are also subject to that store's refund policy, which we don't control.
- Chargebacks: if a payment is reversed by your bank or a store, we remove whatever is still unspent from that purchase, turn off auto top-up, and pause purchases on the account pending review.
- We may change prices, drop rates and item features to keep the game balanced. We'll try not to devalue things you've bought, but we don't guarantee any item's rarity or value.
5.Payments
Web payments are processed by Stripe; in-app purchases by Google Play or the Apple App Store under their terms. If you turn on AI credit auto top-up, you authorise us to charge your saved card the amount shown (for example $5) whenever your balance runs low, up to the monthly cap you set. You can turn it off or remove your card at any time in Billing. Every charge is final once made. Subscriptions renew until cancelled.
6.Inactive accounts
If you don't sign in for a year (longer on lifetime plans; paused while a plan is active), your finds gradually return to the game's pools for others to discover, keeping their serial numbers and history. We'll email you 30, 7 and 1 day before this starts. Signing in stops it. Returned items can't be restored.
7.What you create
- You keep ownership of content you create (profile text, photos, style designs, guild pages). You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, adapt for display, and distribute it within Scavengia and its promotion, for as long as it's on the service.
- Creator market: designs are reviewed before listing. When one sells, the creator receives 70% of the coin price and 30% is removed from circulation. Earnings are in coins, not money.
- Don't upload anything you don't have the right to share, or anything illegal, hateful, sexual, violent, harassing, or that reveals someone else's private information. Sighting photos must be your own, taken by you, of something you actually saw.
- We may remove content and suspend accounts that break these rules. Report problems in the app or at hello@scavengia.com.
8.Sightings and iNaturalist
In-game identifications are suggestions. If you connect iNaturalist, observations post to your own iNaturalist account and are subject to iNaturalist's terms; their community decides the identification and grade shown on your card. Rewards tied to Research Grade arrive only if iNaturalist reaches it.
9.AI features
Some features use AI models. Their output can be wrong; don't rely on it for safety, legal, medical or identification decisions. Don't try to manipulate AI features (for example by putting instructions in dispute evidence); we may void the result and keep any stake. AI use is prepaid and stops when your balance reaches zero.
10.Third-party content and embeds
Catalogue records and images come from museums, iNaturalist, Wikipedia/Wikidata and other open sources under their licences; credits are shown with each record. Embedded services such as xat run under their own terms.
11.Fair play
No location spoofing, bots, scripts, multiple accounts to farm rewards, exploiting bugs, or selling accounts or items for real money. We may reverse rewards, remove items, or suspend or close accounts for cheating.
12.Changes and ending
We may change or stop features, or end the service, with reasonable notice where possible. You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. Sections about virtual items, content licences, disclaimers and liability survive.
13.Disclaimers and liability
Scavengia is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for injury or loss arising from real-world play, and our total liability is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the last 12 months or $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
14.Disputes
Please contact us first at hello@scavengia.com; most issues can be fixed quickly. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and courts in New York have jurisdiction, except where your local consumer law gives you the right to bring claims at home.
